What is it?
A combination of HIV medicines (antiretrovirals).
Who takes it?
HIV-negative individuals who have had a high-risk exposure, including people who have experienced sexual violence.
When is it taken?
Immediately after exposure, but must be started within 72 hours (3 days). Every hour counts.
How long is the course?
A full course of daily medication for 28 days.What does it prevent?HIV infection only.

What is it?
A single dose of the antibiotic doxycycline.
Who takes it?
Individuals at high risk for bacterial STIs in a consensual setting (often men who have sex with men and transgender women).
When is it taken?
A single dose taken within 72 hours (3 days) after condomless sex.
How long is the course?
A single dose taken as-needed after an event.
What does it prevent?
Can reduce risk Bacterial STIs (Syphilis and Chlamydia, with less effect on Gonorrhoea)
โ ๏ธ Key Note:
DoxyPEP DOES NOT prevent HIV.
Most doctors are worried that the convenient use of DoxyPEP now will weaken a vital antibiotic, making future infections harder to cure for everyone.
